Follow these 5 Simple steps to planning a fun birthday party for kids:

Strategy with your little one

As it’s her birthday party, it’s only prudent to involve your child in the planning process. Ask her what she wants for a theme, perhaps her favorite cartoon character, a fairytale character (such as a princess, bat removal services, a mermaid or a pirate), or maybe a favorite color. Ask her input about the amusement, too – would she want to have just games or does she need a clown or a magician present?

Last, note down the key people that she needs present at her party, she’ll most probably mention that a best friend or a neighbourhood kid she always plays with.

Establish the date, time and guest list

As soon as you’ve decided on a theme, planning will be easier from there. It’s ideal to decide on a date and time of a party at least 6 months ahead, so you’ll have plenty of time to plan and send out invitations.

A day of a weekend should be best for everyone (there is no school and lots of the parents do not have work). As for the time, lunch time is a fantastic time for pre-schoolers and after nap time for toddlers.

To keep things organized, create a list of all the people you plan to invite so you have a general idea of how many people you’ll be preparing for.

Set a budget

1 good thing to remember is that you don’t have to spend too much money to host a party that children will enjoy. Provided that there’s food and entertainment, children will be happy. Set a budget and stick to it when buying decorations, shopping for food and selecting amusement (if your child requested a clown or magician).

Prepare easy food

Kids may be picky eaters, but what they need are in fact the simplest of meals – hotdogs, sandwiches, spaghetti, pizza etc.. It’s all in the presentation.

Don’t worry too much about food at the party. Remember, you’re catering to the children, not the parents.

Apart from exciting games for amusement, keep the kids hyped up with upbeat music throughout the celebration. Don’t forget the cake and the goody bags full of candy and cheap party favors!

Follow these 5 simple steps to planning a fun birthday party for kids and your child will have a very memorable birthday!
